Budget Cuts

It's that time of year again, when Suffolk County Council opens its consultation on budget priorities for the upcoming year (2018-2019, in this case). This year, they are considering increasing council tax by 1.99% on top of the additional 3% that will be added to support Adult Care Services, so households may face a possible increase of 4.99% in their payments. And even if the extra 1.99% is approved, the council says that further savings of £26.9 million will be required over the coming year, so budget cuts will need to be made in some areas.

Which areas of council spending do you believe should be protected? Where do you think money can be saved? Visit Suffolk County Council's website here to take part in the consultation and let the council know your views.
