What has the EU done for us? Eye tests for employees working on computers

If your job requires you to work at a computer screen for extended periods of time, then an EU directive from 1990 means that you are entitled to have regular eye tests provided by your employer. This EU requirement was added to UK legislation two years later, in The Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations 1992.
