We are not alone. ALDE Party agrees with the Lib Dems.

The Alliance of Liberals & Democrats for Europe Party (ALDE Party), "the party for liberal democrat values in Europe", is a major force in European politics. ALDE Party's member parties include those of seven prime ministers of EU countries--Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Slovenia--and the Liberal Democrats. It is led by Guy Verhofstadt (MEP, and the European Parliament's representative in the Brexit negotiations).

A few days ago, the ALDE Party sent an email to subscribers, under the subject title "Not what we wished for". In it, they wrote:

"Theresa May is in trouble this week and the uncertainty she is creating around Brexit is having a disastrous effect.

[...]

"Theresa May has not secured support for her stance on Brexit and EU leaders say that there has not been sufficient progress on key divorce issues such as citizens rights, the borders of Ireland and the financial settlement.

"This uncertainty surrounding Brexit is causing disastrous effects in the UK: Jobs are being lost at major employers, the pound has lost 20% of its value in a year, the balance between trade and productivity is poor and the UK has fallen to the bottom of the growth leagye for major economic countries.

"The public is already paying the price for Brexit.

"We stand with the British Liberal Democrats and think that once the Brexit deal is clear, the British people must have the final say with a chance to stay in the EU if they do not like the deal.
