WE ARE 30 TODAY!
CELEBRATE THAT THE UK HAS A SENSIBLE, OPEN, TOLERANT, AND UNITED ALTERNATIVE POLITICAL PARTY..
HAPPY 30TH BIRTHDAY LIBERAL DEMOCRAT PARTY FROM ALL MEMBERS AND SUPPORTERS IN EAST SUFFOLK
On March 3rd1988 the Liberal Party and Social Democratic Party merged to create the Social and Liberal Democrats, renamed the Liberal Democrats in October 1989.
The SDP-Liberal Alliance existed from 1981 to 1988. Over two-thirds of the members, and all the serving MPs, of the Liberal Party joined this party, led first jointly by David Steel and the SDP leader Robert Maclennan. In July the new party elected Paddy Ashdown as it Leader.
For 30 years the Party has been firmly based in the centre ground of British politics, outward looking, internationalist, standing up for human rights and embracing the values of liberty, equality and community. Today we celebrate with fellow members and supporters.
Share our values and would like to celebrate our next birthday with other reasonable, like minded people?
Why not come and join us.
