The New European (a newspaper for the 48%) to continue publication
The New European newspaper, launched as a "pop-up newspaper for the 48%" four weeks ago with an initial plan for just four editions, has announced that it will continue its weekly publication on a rolling basis for as long as there is sufficient public interest. The paper describes itself as "not aligned with old political divisions but with an enthusiasm and love for Europe".
The content has developed over the first four weeks into a lively mixture of analysis, comment, fact file, snippets of news from around Europe, and vox pop. There are big-name contributors (Richard Branson, Nick Clegg and Peter Mandelson this week, for example, or A C Grayling and Alistair Campbell in previous issues), as well as an interesting set of regular features such as a profile of an EU country, or 48 facts on a Brexit/EU-related topic (published on page 48, naturally -- this week, the topic is "Farage facts"). The "Expertise" section, subtitled ironically with Michael Gove's infamous statement that "people in this country have had enough of experts", is packed full of in-depth articles covering a huge range of topics.
You can find out more about the newspaper at http://www.theneweuropean.co.uk. Suffolk Coastal seems to be strangely lacking in physical outlets at which you can buy the paper, but you can order a print copy online for postal delivery, and apps are available for both iOS and Android to allow in-app purchase of specific editions for reading on suitable devices.
