Are you bored with the television, but looking for an excuse to stay flopped on the sofa now that Boxing Day has been and gone? Why not try drafting a vision statement for the future, in the last of our short series about consultations in which you can take part? The Your Liberal Britain exercise continues its polling of members' views on the future direction of liberalism in the UK, this time by asking the question: "What would Britain look like in 2030, if we Lib Dems had our way?" The aim is to come up with something that is realistic and achievable, but recognisably liberal, reflecting the values of the Liberal Democrats.

You are invited to write up to 500 words in response to this question, submitting your entry to the competition page (where you can find full details). The competition deadline has been extended to midnight on Wednesday 4th January, so there's still plenty of time to compose your thoughts and your essay, while juggling the turkey sandwiches and the last of the mince pies.

And the prize? A place on the team that is working on drafting a vision statement for Your Liberal Britain, to be taken to Conference in 2017 for members to vote on whether it should be adopted by the party.
