Q&A with Tim Farron, at the headquarters of The New European newspaper in Norwich
"Pop-up newspaper" The New European appeared in the wake of the EU Referendum, initially for a run of just four weeks, to cater for the interests of the 48% of voters who had seen their hopes for a European future thwarted by the referendum's pro-Brexit outcome. That initial four weeks turned into eight, then more, as publisher Archant (based in Norwich) found that they had unearthed a public appetite for a newspaper that presented high-quality journalism with a pro-European, pro-EU perspective. The newspaper is now available in print (by post or on news-stands), in a digital edition, and via iOS and Android apps, and the subscription periods currently on offer stretch out to 26 weeks.
