Policy motions and consultative sessions at the Autumn Conference

The party's Autumn Conference is taking place in Bournemouth in September. An important feature of any Liberal Democrat Conference is that members have a say in the party's policies, being given the opportunity to take part in the debate and to vote on whether or not each policy is accepted. There are also consultative sessions on topics related to the party itself.

Here in Suffolk Coastal, we thought it would be interesting to hold a series of very informal discussions on the topics up for debate, prior to the Conference. This could give members who are not attending Conference the chance to consider the same issues, as well as encouraging those attending to think about them in advance. Who knows, we may even wish to submit formal amendments to the policy motions, as many other local parties do!
