Find out what happens in Suffolk County Council

After the flurry of a County Council election, what exactly do your elected councillors do on Suffolk County Council? The Liberal Democrat county councillors share a website (for which you can find a live feed in the "Local & Regional" section of sidebar to the left-hand side of this page, headed "News from Suffolk County Council's Lib Dem councillors"), where they report their "views and news". And Caroline Page, Lib Dem county councillor for Woodbridge, has her own blog to which we also include a live feed on the left (headed "News from Lib Dem County Councillor for Woodbridge").

The County Council meets as a body seven times a year, and as a member of the public you are entitled to attend meetings. The next one is at 2 p.m. on Thursday 17th September at King Edmund Chamber, Endeavour House, Ipswich. You can find the agenda and associated papers here: http://committeeminutes.suffolkcc.gov.uk/LoadDocument.aspx?rID=0900271182141455. The agenda shows that Lib Dem Councillor for the Peninsula area, David Wood, will be proposing a motion for debate: "We call upon this council to sign up to the Woodland Trusts Charter for Trees, Woods and People".

But you don't even have to turn up to watch the proceedings, as Suffolk County Council offers a live webcasting service. This lets you watch the sessions live, but you can also catch up with recordings of meetings for the past twelve months. There is even a YouTube channel.
