EU funding for infrastructure projects in Suffolk Coastal
The Port of Felixstowe, and the road and rail links to the port (for movement of freight and containers), are vital for our economy in Suffolk Coastal. The European Union has made significant investments in Suffolk Coastal on the A14 and at the Port of Felixstowe, through the Trans-European Transport Network programme (TEN-T).
Over the past decade, EU contributions have been received for:
- sections of the A14, M6 and A1: €23,997,440
- A14 corridor traffic management scheme: €11,670,000
- Felixstowe-Nuneaton route work: €9,234,000
- Felixstowe rail terminal: €5,000,000
- Felixstowe rail terminal, phase 2: €1,724,000
- Felixstowe-Harwich channel deepening: €753,000
