East Suffolk Lib Dems choose Jules Ewart as their candidate for the Leiston By Election

27 Apr 2018

Jules EWART is the Lib dem Candidate for the forthcoming by-election for the Leiston ward seat on suffolk coastal district council.

An all women contest gets underway for a Suffolk Coastal District Council seat.

The By Election which will be held on Thursday 17th May follows the resignation of the sitting District Councillor.

Upon being nominated, Jules added "I am delighted to have been selected to contest this seat for the LIb Dems. I'm standing for two reasons. Being a District Councillor is a responsible position requiring a significant level of commitment. I feel that with my broad experience, fresh approach and professional skills I'm well suited to carry forward this role.

Secondly, Suffolk is suffering from 'one party politics' with debate being stifled. The Conservative party are not delivering what Leiston needs. I am asking Leiston, Middleton and Theberton voters to change their party vote to the Lib Dems, (I did, in 2016). They will be giving a significant signal to the Government that Suffolk, is seeing reasonable people standing up and saying 'Enough' and are voting for change.

Jules is currently the local Party Membership Development Officer and one of many new members who have joined the party over the past couple of years. Jules is also Chair of Suffolk EU/Alliance.
